  8. Does BTS comply with EU – U.S. Privacy Shield and the Swiss – US Privacy Shield?

    BTS complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and the United Kingdom and Switzerland to the United States, respectively. BTS has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms of this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern.     BTS has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the Privacy Shield Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, JAMS International.     For BTS entities in Canada, compliance with Privacy Shield is not required as Canada has been deemed to have an adequate level of data protection by the European Commission. BTS will continue its compliance with Privacy Shield.

    Onward Transfer
    BTS complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for onward transfers of personal data from the EU and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions.


  9. What are BTS’s policies on transferring EU employee data to the US?

    BTS does not have employees or offices in the EU or Switzerland.


  10. What about my personal data that was provided to BTS by its users?

    For information submitted through BTS’s online products by our users, we do not own this data. Those individuals and businesses, using our product and services, are the owners (controllers) of the information that was provided to BTS.
